Aquarium & the crazy things my child says:

Last night we decided to take Makenlee to the aquarium because she loves all types of animals. She had an absolute blast and didn't want to leave. She named every fish Bob & when I asked her why she chose that name she said "Because his name is Bob. That's why." I guess I didn't get the memo. (pictures of Kenlee and Bob are below)

Here are a few of the other funny things Kenlee has said to AJ & I lately:

Kenlee: Mom one day I will get to go to school and make lots of friends.
Me: Yes, you will but to make lots of friends you have to share your toys and be really nice to other kids.
Kenlee: Share my toys?!?
Me: Yes, sharing toys makes other kids really happy.
Kenlee: hmm. I don't want to make friends.


AJ (to me): Oh yeah I know.
Kenlee: Daddy, you should not tell momma no. I think you need to say sorry and don't do it again. Ok you promise?
AJ: Well Kenlee, I am a Daddy so I am allowed to say no.
Kenlee: Yes, but it isn't nice to tell momma no. You should say you are sorry.

Kenlee: Mom, what kind of birthday do you want?
Me: Well, my birthday isn't for a really long time so I don't know.
Kenlee: Oh I know. How about a Kenlee birthday party?


Kenlee was trying to open a package of fruit snacks. I asked her several times if she wanted help but she insisted that she could do it. Finally she turns to me and says "UGH I can't do it. I am not a grown up!"

Her favorite phrase this week is "for sure." So when she finishes her drink she goes "Mom this is done for sure" or "Mom I am getting sleepy for sure."

I know there are many more things that she says that have made us laugh but that is all I can think of for now. Here are pictures from the aquarium & a few other random ones that I have taken recently.

The past 2 years..

Ok, so I KNOW that I am horrible at keeping up with this but I swear I will try to get better. For those that need an update on the past 2 years I will sum it up in a few paragraphs.

Makenlee is now two and a half. She talks like a 15 year old and has the attitude to go with it. She is still super busy & I know that will never change. Her favorite things are going to the park, eating cheeses that normal 2 year olds hate (feta & parmesan to be exact), & blowing bubbles. Her phrase of the week is "umm maybe tomorrow.." She tells me this anytime I ask her to do anything which gets old really fast. Other than that she is still my crazy little girl.

As for AJ & I, we bought a house last year a ways outside of town. I am going to the community college and only taking part time classes so I can still stay home with Kenlee during the day. I am just taking required classes for now but am going to apply for the surgical tech program next summer. We are getting a couple of chickens this year hopefully & we are going to have our own garden which makes me super happy. So thats pretty much all that has happened in the last two years with us (BORING I know). OH and AJ finally graduated from his apprenticeship program..WOOOHOOO.

The 4th

On the 4th we decided to go over to my Mother and Father in laws. My parents came over and we had a BBQ and played games. We bought Kenlee a little pool and she got to "swim" for the first time. She ABSOLUTELY loved it! I knew she would considering she loves bath time.

Once it got dark we started lighting off fireworks. When I say WE I mean AJ. He is like a kid in a candy store when it comes to fireworks. Kenlee was less then thrilled about the noise so we took her inside while the guys sat out and played.

Needless to say it was a very good 4th. It made me kind of sad when it was all over because it was Kenlee's last "first holiday."

Bubbles

Today we took Makenlee to the park with our good friends Laura & Luke. While Aj & Luke threw the frisbee around Laura and I brought out the bubbles. Kenlee loved every single minute of it.

Ever since I gave birth to Kenlee it has given me such an appreciation for the little things in life. For instance, when we started to blow the bubbles for her it was as if I had never seen bubbles before. I began to get so excited fo her to see them. Heck, I was probably more excited then she was! Yes, kind of pathetic I know.

By the way, she turned 10 months yesterday! I can't believe it. It is hard for me to believe that my baby will be a year in 2 short months.
